Types of Funds

Automatically respond to changing community needs.

Donors establish a Discretionary Fund to provide support for general, unspecified charitable purposes at the discretion of the Community Foundation, with no advice or recommendation from the Donor or any persons designated by the Donor.

Choose which organizations to support, and when.

Donors establish a Donor Advised Fund to provide support for charitable and similar exempt expenditures or recipients recommended by the Donor or persons designated by the Donor to advise the Community Foundation. The recommendations are advisory, and the Community Foundation reviews and approves all recommendations.

Make higher education possible for residents.

Donors establish a Scholarship Fund to provide educational scholarships to individuals, with or without advice or recommendations from the Donor (or persons designed by the Donor).

Support the causes or communities you care about most.

Donors establish a Field of Interest Fund to provide support for a specified charitable purpose, with no future advice or recommendations from the Donor (or any persons designated by the Donor).

Guaranteed annual income for your selected nonprofits.

Donors establish a Designated Fund (endowment or pass-through) to provide support for a specified public charity (e.g., the museum, a church, a food bank, or a hospital), with no future or advice or recommendations from the Donor (or any person designated by the Donor).
