What We Do
History
Through the financial resources of a broad base of donors, Our Community Foundation’s mission is to
meet the changing needs of Daviess County by fostering a culture of local philanthropy. The Foundation
was organized in 2021 as part of an agreement with the Community Foundation Alliance in Evansville to
move the Daviess County Community Foundation away from a 9-county regional affiliation of community
foundations to a standalone community foundation. Our Community Foundation is led by a Board of 21
community leaders who all live in Daviess County. With firsthand knowledge of the community and a
solid personal commitment, the Board is committed to leading the Foundation in a manner that best
serves the Daviess County community they call home. The Foundation’s office is in historic downtown
Washington’s tallest building – the former Peoples/German American Bank – located at 201 E Main St,
Washington.
