Our Community Foundation recently awarded Brotherhood Charities a $1000 grant to support the 20th Century Chevy Annual Car Show. The grant was made possible by the TrueScripts Foundation Fund, a donor-advised fund held by Our Community Foundation.
This year will mark the 48th year for the Annual 20th Century Chevy Carfest and Cruise In. The event will be held on September 19th and 2oth at Washington’s Eastside Park. Between 400 to 600 vehicles are expected for the car show.
Shane Matthews states, “The generous donation from Our Community Foundation will be used this year to support the overall success of our annual Car Fest and Cruise-In. This event continues to attract thousands of visitors throughout the weekend and plays a critical role in raising the funds necessary to sustain our many charitable programs.”
According to Chris Jarrett, Executive Director of the Foundation, the grant was provided by the TrueScripts Foundation Fund, which is set up to allow donors to have ongoing involvement in how their gift is used to support charitable causes. “Donors recommend grants to qualified nonprofits,” says Jarrett. “We are available to help donors identify nonprofits working to address the issues and needs they care about most. We also handle all due diligence, ensuring nonprofits are in good standing. Recommendations are submitted to our board for approval; we then distribute grant dollars.” Jarrett added that donor-advised funds are great for individuals, families, and businesses.
