Our Community Foundation works to address the need in Daviess County for activities that strengthen the stability of arts organizations, make the arts accessible, enhance the understanding of all types of arts and humanities, and promote the appreciation or understanding of historical events. The Foundation awarded a grant to Oak Grove Caretakers for the mowing of Oak Grove Cemetery, an historic public place in Washington, and to the Daviess County Historical Society for “An Evening with Todd Gould,” a program about the filmmaking industry, by a Daviess County native. In addition, the Foundation participates in community leadership endeavors to improve quality of life spaces, with an eye to preserve the historical features of downtowns, like the Commons of Daviess County project.
