Healthy Hoosiers Initiative to support a new project at Daviess County schools. The $750 grant provided funding for the organization to purchase tampons, pads, underwear, and pants for school nurses to keep in stock for students who have newly started to menstruate and/or cannot afford sanitary products.
Healthy Hoosiers Initiative, established in 2021, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the health of Hoosiers. The organization focuses on Preventive Services, Behavioral Healthcare, and Infant and Maternal Health. The founders, Hawk Royer and Kaitlyn Gabhart, who both grew up in Daviess County, started their work here with the hope of expanding the model statewide.
