Our Community Foundation has announced the second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant recipients. A $250 grant was awarded to support the Study of Life and Sustainability in Jasmine Spore’s classroom. Spore implemented low-cost, simple tabletop hydroponic stations that allowed the students to see the growth of a multicellular organism and led to great discussions of soil types. Students chose seeds that would typically struggle in winter conditions and learned a valuable skill. The Foundation conducted the competitive grant program during November and December, inviting Daviess County educators to apply for resources for the second semester of 2024-25 projects.
Our Community Foundation is proud to support innovative teaching methods in all area schools. We appreciate the generosity of our donors to our unrestricted funds, who made this grant possible.
