Our Community Foundation has announced the second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant recipients. A $250 grant was awarded to support Write and Read Wonders: Building Literacy and Creativity in Jennifer Oxford’s second-grade classroom. The project brings a fresh, interactive approach to reading and writing by introducing LCD writing tablets and First Little Reader books to provide engaging, level-appropriate stories that foster a love for literature. This combination will be new to the students in school experience merging technology and literacy. The Foundation conducted the competitive grant program during November and December, inviting Daviess County educators to apply for resources for the second semester of 2024-25 projects.
Our Community Foundation is proud to support innovative teaching methods in all area schools. We appreciate the generosity of our donors to our unrestricted funds, who made this grant possible.
