Our Community Foundation has announced the second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant recipients. A $150 grant was awarded to support Literacy Magic in Ken Spencer’s classroom.  Literacy Magic aims to spark a love for reading by immersing students in the enchanting world of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This grant will provide 18 copies of the captivating novel, and Spencer believes students will develop essential literacy skills while exploring themes of friendship, courage, and resilience. The Foundation conducted the competitive grant program during November and December, inviting Daviess County educators to apply for resources for the second semester of 2024-25 projects.
Our Community Foundation is proud to support innovative teaching methods in all area schools. We appreciate the generosity of our donors to our unrestricted funds, who made this grant possible.
