Our Community Foundation has announced the second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant recipients. A $250 grant was awarded to support PreK Artists in Mary Padgett’s classroom. Padgett stated that the PreK students come from very diverse backgrounds. While some have many opportunities to explore art materials, the larger percentage have little experience. Due to the scarcity of supplies, she must sometimes limit the use of materials. According to Padgett, having ample arts and crafts materials has allowed all PreK students opportunities to develop physically and mentally while having fun and learning. The Foundation conducted the competitive grant program during November and December, inviting Daviess County educators to apply for resources for the second semester of 2024-25 projects.
Our Community Foundation is proud to support innovative teaching methods in all area schools. We appreciate the generosity of our donors to our unrestricted funds, who made this grant possible.
